we had only a fantastic meal and they were recommended, and they were right to eat and service are amazing. my sister does not have to eat gluten and we are never able to choose the same meal, but we both had the amazing cakes and loved it. they would not know that it was gluten-free and I suppose that is the point. the baked was perfect and it was a real cake not meat with baked lid, that only pretends to be a cake!... What User doesn't like about Stagg Inn:
Three of us enjoyed the excellent steak sandwiches and the fourth thought the “main course” cheeseboard was excellent. But, we were somewhat put off by the less than friendly welcome and service View all feedback.
The entire experience at this restaurant was excellent, from the moment we entered to the service we received. The employees were very accommodating and knowledgeable.
We stayed at a lovely cottage for a long weekend as it was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed. We would give it a 10/10 rating.
Been to the stagg 3 times now, and loved it every time. The staff is always very helpful and welcoming and the food is incredible. Very recommended
Food was excellent some really interesting flavours and very well presented. Impressed by the menu, which also catered for vegetarians. It look a long time (over 30 mins for the starter and another hour for the main course) in a venue that wasn't overly busy; room for improvement there. Minor observation, but the decor in the mens' toilets (looks new) is bizarre when compared with the rest of the Stag Inn! Overall it's a good venue, with great food and welcoming staff.
Service was very slow and one of the steaks we ordered was cooked as requested but the other was distinctly under cooked. Staff seemed to be a problem.
