What hellyholls likes about Axe Cleaver:
Really lovely home cooked roast. Best Yorkshire pudding I’ve had for awhile. Nothing messed around with. Lovely melt in the mouth topside (I normally like my beef rare which this wasn’t. It had been slow cooked beautifully). Fresh veg. Would have liked the roast potatoes a bit crispier but that is minor in what was a good plate of food. As for dessert we shared the toffee sundae. I won’t be sharing again as it’s too... View all feedback.

read moreThis traditional British pub promises a warm welcome and a cozy atmosphere, featuring generous portions and a large beer garden ideal for sunny days. However, experiences vary significantly. Some patrons rave about the delicious meals, highlighting well-prepared dishes and attentive service during festive occasions. In contrast, others lament dated decor and uninspired food, with specific complaints about overcooked meat and inattentive staff. While many enjoy the welcoming vibe and dog-friendly atmosphere, others advise caution due to inconsistent food quality. Overall, guests recommend trying it for a casual meal but approach with tempered expectations.
