I went to University of Richmond from 1975 to 1980 and frequented this restaurant. The Italian hoagie with hot peppers was and still is the best option on the menu. Bernie, the owner, is fantastic. If you're searching for the best sub shop in town, look no further than Bernie's. I will definitely be returning to Bernie's whenever I'm back in town. I can't wait to go back soon. If you value your health, do not patronize this establishment. They do not accept credit or debit cards, only cash. The restrooms were difficult to access, with a strange step placed awkwardly over the entrance. Unbelievably good and addictive, although I think it's unethical that they crack. I always get my Italian without the name.
Best subs in richmond. on the expensive side. I guess that's probably from inflation.
