What Alessandro Kunde doesn't like about Mad Hatters on Milston:
The food was average and the scones were hard, the jam was like jelly and cream not so nice. They served our tea in jugs instead of teapots like they had advertised and the they gave us one milk jug for 12 people! Some of the cups were dirty and it was quite overpriced. The high tea was not traditional it had Asian based foods and not very nice gardens. The place had peeling walls and needed lots of love, the outside... View all feedback.

Oh dear, oh dear.... what on earth has happened to this venue in popular Swan Valley area??? Huge disappointment after being there previously. Gardens are totally in disarray- weeds everywhere, overgrown, pool filthy.... tired and uncared for. Food just ok - nothing special and you could have same menu in dozens of other places. Plastic chairs- cheap and uncomfortable. Staff nice but a very loud staff argument coupled with slamming doors and staff member leaving premises is never a good look . Thank goodness we had voucher from entertainment book as would feel "robbed" paying full price for this disappointing lunch. Won't be back and advice? Go somewhere else in Swan Valley.
We thought we would try different restaurants in the valley and have never been to Mad Hatters. Well sorry to say it was hit and miss. We had the onion flower. Well it was not really as expected. If you have had an onion flower before you are likely to be disappointed. We had the tasting plate and some was nice and some was not. We sat outside and I am sorry it is very tired and not the best outlook. The inside has a bit of a theme but outside there does not seem to be much going on. Green plastic chairs and plastic tables. Could be made to look so much nicer.
The new owners are trying and the food is definately improving. Now make the seating more comfortable as we like the venue but there is a lot of competition in the area
It is no good having great value meals if the quality of the food is compromised. As a table or 8 for a belated mothers day lunch we shared two tapas share plates, the crispy squid was just that crispy and overcooked, the spiced pork belly very fatty, the meat balls were ok, but the little cheese pies were uninspiring. I had the pork belly served with 4 small poorly cooked pieces of pork and a pile is coleslaw was not pleasant. Other meals served at our table included lamb ribs which were dry served with under cooked potato, Quiche which was acceptable, Chicken Skewers whic were over cooked and sirloin steak which was cooked well but served with a sauce and nothing else. Service was friendly but even at $370 for 8 less $70 discount using two entertainment book vouchers, the food was simply not good enough
