Booked our table and shown straight to our seats. This lovely lady called Rebecca said she be looking after us all evening, ordered our food and drinks. We had Wiener Schnitzel pan-fried / salad / fried potaotes and a lovely bottle of local wine, must say it was a lovely evening in a very brilliant place.

We have chosen simple dishes, the preparation was very good and tasty; beer was good anyway! I will visit again.

The food was great beyond expectations and so was the service. We had the Schnitzel, the Cordon Bleu, and the Zwiebelrostbraten. All were excellent. Special mention for the latter, which was perfectly cooked. The two waitresses who were serving our table were fast, efficient, and friendly. There was a gentleman playing live piano, covering all sorts of evergreens like San Francisco, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, but also including The Final Countdown. We had a fantastic time that evening.

It is a must to stop in this historic restaurant. The staff is very friendly. The food was great. I definitely suggest the appetizer platter. If you order something with the same side dishes as someone else, they will bring those out family style. We had the sauerbrauten, schnitzel, roasted pork and special veal stew.I was surprised by the roasted pork it was like a deconstructed, very modern take on the pork knuckle we had had other places in Germany. It did not fit the setting of the restaurant. Everything else was delicious. The spaetzle and cabbage on the side were delish with there had been more! i only docked it a star because our food took forever to come out and there really was not explanation or apology. But i would still 100% go back here if ever in Heidelberg again.
