What Autumn K doesn't like about Masraff's:
I would have gave 4 stars because the service and ambiance was very great. I made reservations for a party of 3 only had the option of ordering for the valentine 3 course menu which was fine the options were delicious. Until my sister got to her dessert and discovered a long blonde hair, looking as if the prep people are not wearing hair nets. We did have several people ask if she wanted something else but after that... View all feedback.
There are not that many restaurants around that I can give five stars without thinking the details of my visit. And this restaurant is the one that I can give five stars with with my eyes closed the service, the food, the ambience, you name it, are so good that I don't know what else to say. There are certain things that you need to go experience yourself. After our son's homecoming picture taking, we got together with our friends to have cocktails and have dinner as this was the first time we ever experienced Massraff's. And that's where this review ends.
This is going to post under my husband’s name. Most men don’t like to write reviews. However, I read reviews religiously. Anyway, My husband is the VERY BEST. We went here for our Monday brunch/lunch “just because” date. The food and dessert was excellent. Hats off to the chef and sous chefs. The service was impeccable. They Hostess, Waiters) were so attentive. The drinks were refreshing. I highly, highly recommend that you check it out!!!!!
We decided to drop by for lunch while doing errands. We visited the previous iteration in the galleria many years ago. We were very pleased to find out that their standard of excellence did not falter at all. The waiter was friendly and very efficient. The ambience was upscale and slightly to the business side. The most important part, the food, was exceptional. We shared the American snapper, an appetizer, the Louisiana Roll.l, and desert. The pinot I drank was so good, I had a second glass. Definitely pricy, but worth it.
Truly enjoyed my time at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious! From my foie gras appetizer, to my American red snapper entree. Everything was exactly as described! The ambience is very cozy and intimate. The wait staff endured we were taken care of and ended the night with chocolate fondant! : I wish there was background music during dinner.
We ordered the following for dinner: - Appetizers: Calamari and Louisiana roll - Salad: Heirloom tomato and Gumbo - Entrees: Diver scallops and a 16oz Ribeye cooked medium - Drinks: Cabernet and Spring Branch Blossom Sandia The appetizers were definitely the highlight of the meal, but unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. The Heirloom tomato salad was excessively sweet—I could barely finish a quarter of it due to the overwhelming amount of balsamic vinegar. It desperately needed something to balance out the sweetness. The Gumbo, which was off-menu, consisted of only chicken and large chunks of peppers, and the roux lacked any depth of flavor. It was mostly just rice. My scallops, which were also off-menu, were peppered on the outside and served with mushrooms and saffron couscous. The saffron was overwhelmingly strong, making it nearly inedible after just one bite. The mushrooms were burnt and unfit to eat, and the pepper crust on the scallops was charred as well. I had to scrape off the exterior to enjoy the scallops, which were otherwise cooked well. My husband ordered a medium ribeye, accompanied by lobster grits and peppercorn green sauce. Unfortunately, the ribeye came out medium rare, which was disappointing considering the hefty price tag of $56. On a positive note, he enjoyed the grits and sauce. By the time dessert was offered, we were both so full and dissatisfied with our meal that we chose to decline. Our waiter didn't seem pleased with our decision and commented, “I thought you were celebrating,” before walking away annoyed. It felt like our $350 meal wasn't appreciated. He also seemed irked that we opted for individual glasses of wine instead of a bottle. Being seated so close to the waiter station meant my husband was bumped at least seven times throughout the evening. Overall, considering the price, we expected an exceptional dining experience—something akin to Gordon Ramsay's standards. Unfortunately, it was disappointing and not worth the money spent. Additionally, I noticed that all the waitstaff were male, with only the hostess being female. I found that observation interesting, though I’m not sure if it was just a coincidence on the night we visited.
