Did the Sugarloaf Circuit walk and needed a quick refuel .... stumbled upon this place en route to the city. Had envisaged just coffees but got sucked into ordering more! Zucchini fritters and breakfast brioche both dressed with a great chutney very good. The...fresh ‘green’ juice and berry smoothie were very good too but $9 odd is too steep for a run of the mill ‘pit stop’ cafe. View all feedback.

This is a relatively new café at the bottom of Waterfall Gully. It is on the way to the steep walking trail up to Mount Lofty – hence the name. Parking is easy, and there is ample seating, both inside and out. There are good things about our visit: the tasty Belgian chocolate cake, my cappuccino, the colourful artwork (for sale). But on the other hand, there is only a small selection of cake, and the milk for the tea... View all feedback.
Great place for coffee. Licenced now. More choices for lunch. Outside seating is popular but you can sit inside if you want.
I went to Basecamp cafe this morning and ordered a takeaway coffee and a takeaway bacon and egg muffin. The Barista called out my name when my coffee was ready and the girl behind counter let me know the muffin wasn't far off. A couple of minutes later a different girl approached me and handed me a bag, which I assumed was my order. When I got home I discovered they had given me a croissant instead of a muffin so I went back in the rain. When I arrived I got no apology, instead the girl who handed me the bag informed me she called out 'Chris' and I took the bag. Not true, she approached me and handed me the bag. Another woman who I assume is the cook came out and said because I took the wrong order they had to replace Chris' croissant and now cook me a new muffin. She walked away shaking her head. I would suggest going across the roads or elsewhere and avoiding these rude jerks.

But on the other hand, there is only a small selection of cake, and the milk for the tea fails to arrive. I understand that many walkers call in here, which would explain the array of packaged lunch offerings, drinks and fresh fruit for sale. But free range eggs? In summary, this is an OK experience, but not one which will entice us to make a return visit.
Best early morning coffee in the area like to stop on the way to work$5 egg and bacon rolls! Very popular with cyclists and walkers.
What better way to start the day than with a run, followed by a bite to eat and a beverage of your choice in a friendly atmosphere. Good variety of quality food.
