It was especially surprising that a French brasserie would serve such poor French fries. The atmosphere towards the back of the restaurant was totally lacking.

We had a gre... read more I really do like cafe rouge, but for many different reasons! Its the first place i went on a date with my partner so it has special meaning for me. We had a great time here and i would recommend it as somewhere to take someone new to get to know them. Its not pretentious in anyway and it is cosy, relaxing and romantic. The coffee here is delicious, just the right strength and the aroma smells divine as you walk in. They do a mean breakfast and lunch and dinner is also delicious. Prices are average for this type of place so no surprises!

If I want a steak, I'm just going to the cafe rouge, nobody makes it better, not even a steak house. it's either their cooking equipment or the seasoning, I'm not sure. the others also cause great, appetizers, main courses and desserts. the service was always excellent and there is always a voucher that you can use either online or tesco clubcard vouchers.
