What Charlene Doyle likes about The Rising Sun:
Lovely setting, outstanding food and great drinks - I can't speak highly enough of this restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious, really great stuff. The dips were beautifully presented. I had the fish of the day and the barramundi was perfectly cooked. Our other meal was the calamari which was also perfectly cooked. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. Awesome experience. View all feedback. What Travis Crona doesn't like about The Rising Sun:
Looked very inviting, attractive decor, seemed popular. Unfortunately, looks were deceiving. Tasteless cocktail...ditto the duck "salad", a mound of boiled white rice topped with cucumber spirals (the salad) and dry roasted duck...poorly, if at all seasoned. Inedible.A sad start to our holiday. Overpriced and underspiced. View all feedback.

read moreSome visitors to Palm Cove were disappointed with their dining experience at a popular restaurant, with tasteless cocktails and poorly seasoned dishes leaving them feeling let down. However, nearby diners had a much more positive experience, enjoying fresh and delicious food with friendly service in a lovely setting. Another restaurant offered a good value option with tasty tapas and prompt service, while a happy hour deal at a different establishment provided yummy cocktails and treats at a reasonable price. Despite some shortcomings in glassware, a beachfront spot offered superb food and service, with the only major let down being the limited and expensive wine selection. In summary, while some visitors had mixed experiences, others found delightful dining options in Palm Cove.
