My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at this motel. The location was very convenient, just a 2-5 minute walk from the town center. The room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The bathroom was large and had an open shower. The spa was very nice and big, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We will definitely return and recommend this place to others. What Alicia Tórrez doesn't like about Maynard Motor Inn:
When we arrived, a waitress eventually brought menus which included an insert for sea food specials, which she actively promoted. Two members of our party ordered the specials, only to be told some time later that there was no sea food left! The restaurant had...only a few people in it, so it was not as though there had been a run on sea food in the interim. When our food eventually arrived it was, to be charitable,... View all feedback.
There is not much in Hawke's Bay, but Maynard's Pizza & Pasta restaurant is a good eating spot. We were part of a Road Scholar tour, and the restaurant offered a wide array of good pizzas. The ingredients were good, and there was ample cheese on the pizzas. If you are are on your way from St. Anthony's back to Deer Lake, this is a welcome lunch stop.
Nicely appointed dining room, primarily serving from Pizza Delight franchise. Was extremely busy around noon and only one server, so everything went very slowly (although she was going non-stop, so not her fault). Had the lasagna lunch special, which was a HUGE serving with garlic bread. Was very tasty.
Stay here a bit for work, nice place. Cabins are a bit dated but clean. For the restaurant, one of the best Pizza Delights on the Island. Friendly staff and if you like salmon fishing, one of the best rivers around right next door.
Poor service from the beginning. Did not look like anyone else could say they had great service. Food was ok, not great.... nachos over done, garlic fingers were standard, pizza was good.
