Superb food with an excellent choice of wine. Meals were presented efficiently and delicious to the eye. The owner/chef came out to chat to the patrons which was a nice personal touch. Unexpected fine dining experience in rural NZ. The lamb shank meal was to die for. You must come and try if ever you are in Hāwera.

What a lovely place on a sunny day to have lunch! Nice choice of food including kids menu, a gorgeous garden to sit in while eating and so dog friendly! Ours got so much attention from the staff and she was brought a big bowl of cold water, plus her own little serving of treats. We'd definitely come back and would highly recommend.

Helpful staff were happy to swap out haloumi cheese for mushrooms tasted great. Chose the coconut detox smoothie

This is a GREAT place to chill out and enjoy some lovely catch-up time for yourself along with wonderful food and good service; or to catch-up with family and friends in lovely surrounds and over a wonderful lunch or afternoon tea.... or even possibly dinner. Check first as to when it is open, because the hours of opening have changed a little, generally from Wednesday through to Sunday they will be open at some time to enjoy a fabulous visit here! Today I enjoyed a late lunch/early dinner: Chicken Schnitzel with Salad and Fries, accompanied with a cool drink, and also a cappuccino to finish. (In the past I have enjoyed the Hunters Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce/Gravy; and on other occasions a cappuccino an exceptional and lovely slice of Black Forest Cake! There is a good variety of food to choose from, small or large.

4 of us dined in for my husbands birthday dinner, we were greeted by a very nice waitress and shown to our table. I was so happy to see the different dietary options they provide on the menu. I ordered a chicken burger (changing to GF option , their fries aren't GF since they are cooked in the same vat as gluten containing products so they offered to do me a potato mash which came with pumpkin chutney, and ordering GF garlic bread as entrée (there were 3 but I already ate one before taking the photo! The food was absolutely amazing! Both waitress and waiter were fabulous and the restaurant/Cafe itself is very cozy and very fair in pricing. We have found our favorite eatery.
