Absolutely delicious roadside stop! We were hungry on a roadtrip and saw it on maps, decided to go. Possibly the best decision we’ve made this whole trip! Very reasonably priced and scrumptious with friendly staff! The coleslaw was perfectly done (this coming from someone who lives in the southern US) and we especially loved the garlic parmesan fries. What Luke Makemention doesn't like about Ma'ona Lunch Counter:
Referencing their LUNCH WAGON in Sears parking lot: Wow, the young lady moves Sooo slow! We literally stood in the hot sun for 20 minutes, being ignored; no eye contact, no I 'll be right with you , etc. ZERO rating for food, cause no moa . We left! Sad! View all feedback.
Best place on island to get a burger. I don't even have a favorite because they're all ono
Just found this place today. And wow! Great burger, good prices. And the onion rings were good too!
Local kine place. Only lunch take out. Delicious, quality and low price.
Awesome Island Raised Grass Fed Beef Burgers made to order.. one of the last places you can request Medium Rare and you’ll get exactly that. Prepared just right, juicy and hot! The garlic fries are my personal suggestion for a burger companion. These burgers are 4 steps above basic. Don’t pay DOUBLE for a burger at Burger Joint, when you can get a much better burger made with Aloha at David’s Ma’ona Lunch Counter (or Truck)! Parking: Whether it’s at the Lunch Counter in Shipman, or on-site at the Food Wagon, there’s always plenty parking. Kid-friendliness: The kids love these meals!
The Hilo Hidden ? The burgers are a pure joy. The hand formed patties are rare around these parts, and they are quite sizable. The house made onions rings are equally impressive and flavorful. The storefront offers no frills but take your meal Togo and enjoy.Throw the boys inside some love they are creating art
