Shelly's restaurant offers a lively atmosphere that appeals to some, with friendly staff and enjoyable events like tribute nights. Many guests have praised the attentive service and accommodating options for dietary needs, particularly enjoying special celebrations and Sunday roasts. However, there are significant concerns regarding organization and availability, with reports of missing menu items and inadequate facilities for disabled patrons. Poor service and sarcastic comments from staff, especially the owner, have left some diners feeling dissatisfied and undervalued. Overall, while enjoyable experiences exist, consistency and professionalism appear to be lacking at Shelly's.

I’ve been to Shelly’s a few times in the last few weeks, and despite the challenges all bars face with the social distancing rules it’s always a great night.Great atmosphere, great music, good mixture of both regulars and new faces enjoying themselves.Outside terrace is great for warmer nights and when the weather is not so good, there is ample seating inside the place, all spaced out in line with social distancing r... What Kayleigh P dislikes about Shelly’s Restaurant Bar:
This restaurant is very unsanitary and unsafe. My friend was assaulted while we were there, and the bouncers, staff, and management did nothing to intervene. The bouncers claimed it was not their responsibility to help because the incident occurred outside the venue, even though it happened on the premises. It was a terrible experience, and I will never go back to this place. The manager and bouncers showed a lack of... View all feedback.

I arrived at the restaurant around 7pm on a Saturday night in October with two friends, hoping to grab a quick drink before heading to another dining spot nearby. Despite plenty of available tables, we were turned away because the establishment was only seating groups with female guests. This seemed unbelievable and especially frustrating during COVID restrictions. The next day, I reached out to the restaurant's Facebook page to complain, only to be met with insults and accusations of lying. I was labeled "a very sad person" for supposedly fabricating the incident. It's disappointing when you try to support local businesses during tough times and are treated this way. I have no intention of returning to this establishment, even if I was paid to do so.

I hosted my daughter's 40th birthday celebration in the outdoor area at Shelley's last week. Due to the COVID-19 situation, I was fortunate to come across this location. Despite only being able to have a small gathering of 18 people seated at 3 separate tables, everything turned out well. Shelley was incredibly helpful and accommodating while still following government guidelines. The refurbishment of the bar and outdoor space was well done and looked beautiful. Everybody had a wonderful time, and I would definitely return. Thank you to Shelley and her team! - Pam.

Yesterday, I was invited by a friend to celebrate his birthday at Shelly's. I have a disability (MS) that prevents me from standing or walking, so I arrived at Shelly's in my small and maneuverable disabled scooter. Unfortunately, there were no accessible toilet facilities for disabled individuals, and despite my efforts, I could not access the regular toilets in my scooter. As a result, I had no choice but to relieve myself in a side alley. I brought up this issue with Shelly, the owner, but she mentioned she was busy and would address it later. Unfortunately, by the time I left around midnight, she had not followed up with me.

We were only allowed to order from the set menu at £40 per person. We could have got a comparable meal in a Wetherspoon pub for a fraction of the cost. It was mediocre to say the least as was the entertainment. To add insult to injury a service charge was added. On a positive note the staff were friendly but unless the quality, choice and standard of cooking improves this restaurant seems destined for failure. We won't be going back.

Cant believe I'm seeing people give 4 and 5 star reviews for this place. The food was not worth £40 for the three courses. The wings were dry, ribs were obviously pulled straight off the tesco/asda shelf and the cheesecake turned up warm; more than likely rushed to defrost in the microwave. The desserts clearly weren't ready as we were offered a round of shots instead. The lack of table service resulted in some of us walking out to the bar by the entrance to get everyone in our group a drink. When we eventually went up to pay, we noticed a service charge was added. We stated we wasnt happy paying it as the service was non existent. This was followed up by one of the workers (shelly, I assume) giving a sarcastic and uncooperative response. We went for a drink in the sutton's after and about an hour in I started feeling nauseous. I ended up rushing to the toilet and was violently sick, bringing up what I had eaten an hour prior. We paid well over the odds on the whole and definitely wont be coming back. Rude staff to match (some but not all).Music was alright though.
