Ding Dong - Havering
Ding Dong
Description
TIK KA, the restaurant formerly known as Ding Dong Sushi, is generating mixed reviews. While some patrons praise its delicious sushi and attentive service, significant concerns about hygiene persist, including unclean food preparation areas and sightings of pests. Ordering issues and poor customer service have also marred the experience for many, with reports of declined orders and ignored dietary requests. Despite the high prices for small portions and uneven food quality, there are positive mentions of certain dishes like Volcano Sushi. Overall, diners are urged to proceed with caution when considering a visit to this establishment.

Low food hygiene rating 1/5. (scores on the doors)Got a bad dose from the sushi. You would be mad to eat sushi from an establishment with such a low hygiene score, I should have checked before visiting. While the Sushi was OK in taste, way too much rice versus ingredients.I suspect they don't use sushi rice..The Thai Green curry was full of sugar and had a very glutinous texture/appearance.It is a strange Chinese cover version of what a Thai green curry should be.The service was pleasant and drinks are reasonably priced.I feel bad giving a one star, but I have to as it made me ill.I am confused by the other very enthusiastic ratings for this establishment as I had visited based on them.
I really recommend this restaurant...its small and not fancy but the best Asian food I have tasted in UK!! Even better that they deliver!!!!
All the food we tried was good and tasty. Good value for money and I agree with other reviews, that the portion sizes were generous. Tried a selection of Maki Rolls, Gyozo and Ramen, very yummy! Will definitely go back for more.
Good food and friendly staff. Went in on a Monday evening. Restaurant was really quiet. Food came out quick and good portion sizes and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back
We visited this restaurant last night after having a real craving for sushi. Being new to the area, it was decision based purely on previous reviews. We were not disappointed! The sushi portions were larger than expected, perfectly cooked rice, the freshest fish- absolutely delicious. We then ordered the braised lobster which was divine! To the point where my partner went back to the kitchen and thanked the chef personally. The portions were really generous and we ended up having to take a doggy bag home. The restaurant itself is very modest and quiet but don't let that put you off. Only downside is that the seafood section of the menu is not available for takeaway orders so to have the lobster, crab, squid main dishes etc you would have to eat in at the restaurant. But without a doubt, it is definitely worth it!We will be coming back here... often!!
