What Franck Laruelle dislikes about Craggy Range:
The winery is beautifully polished and well-maintained. However, we didn't feel very welcomed since we didn't have a reservation. We were informed that we could enter only if we wanted to purchase wine. It gave me the impression of being in a gift shop where the staff seemed focused solely on making sales. We were lucky enough to be able to snag a wine tasting experience without a booking, but book ahead to make sure you don 't miss out. The staff were lovely and our wine connoisseur told us about each of the wines we were tasting, the regions and soil profile for each of the wines and how their wines might differ from others from the same region. The wine tasting came in two different classes, with the base 'family ' wines costing $35pp, and the prestige tasting $65pp. The prestige tasting includes more wines and also includes side by side tasting of different wines of the same variety or vintage a real treat for anyone who enjoys wine. Whilst it was a little steep price wise to what we are used to, the whole tasting experience was unique and ultimately we were very happy to pay what we did. The wines themselves were delicious and are to be enjoyed for what they are don 't compare them to what you might be used to from Australia/Europe etc. The Chardonnay was a treat and a real eye opener having never had a drinkable, let alone enjoyable, Chardonnay back home. The Sophia blend was also a real stand out. Food platters were available and ours was delicious, showcasing beautiful local and seasonal produce. The caramelised walnuts were a hit. The grounds and views from the cellar door were also amazing. This winery is a must visit if you are in the Napier/Hawkes Bay region of NZ. Book ahead of time, and allow a good 2 hours at least to make the most of the whole experience if going for the premium tastings. Service: 5 Location: 5

Craggy Range offers a truly exceptional experience, deserving of a perfect 10/10. The staff is absolutely wonderful and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure a fantastic dining experience. Their attention to detail is remarkable; for instance, I left the table only to return and find my napkin neatly refolded. It’s the little things like this that really make a difference. I have never been disappointed by the food—Chef Casey and his team create culinary magic in the kitchen. However, the standout during each visit is Elliott. He manages the dining area with grace and a calm demeanor, always wearing a smile that brightens the atmosphere. Thank you, Elliott, for making my experiences at Craggy Range the best they can be. I wouldn’t consider dining anywhere else.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The service was outstanding, and the food was exquisite. We each ordered something different for lunch, and every dish was absolutely delightful. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff made us feel welcome without rushing us. A big thank you to the team at Craggy Range for making our day truly memorable!

I love this place so much. We went here for lunch yesterday. The surroundings are so beautiful. The restaurant is lovely, the waitresses are very welcoming, the atmosphere is great and the food was so delicious. We had a good walk around the vineyard after lunch. It was wonderful. We will go there again if we go pass this town in the future.
