Our daily stop for the first coffee of the day, with preference for sitting outside on the terrace. Le Makalu draws a strong and faithful clientele from the local community, and you do not see many tourists there. This makes it an excellent place to start the day with a coffee and croissant, and discuss the plans for the rest of the day. At times the owner will bring her lovely and friendly dog Aron. Whenever we are in Nendaz this is our preferred location to start the day. We absolutely love it, and the service is very friendly and welcoming. If I would be able to give 10 stars to Sandy, then I would have done so.

This is a local bar that deserves to be considered more by visitors and saisonairres. It is very clean and comfy and the staff led by Sandy make you extremely welcome. There is a choice of beers and wines all at competitive prices. The toilets are pristine. In the summer sitting outside is delightful and peaceful in the winter the inside is great.

'Chez Sandy ' is a super alternative to the mainstream après ski bars, especially if you want to talk and not shout. Piped music of varying genres, comfy seating, draught beers, wines and hot drinks and a selection of boulangerie and patisserie. Drinks are accompanied by a variety of nibbles and very friendly service. We were also made very welcome during the summer. Prices are middle of the road making it good value. Well done Sandy.
