We had a very cheerful time in the Cafe Murano which has a quirky and interesting interior. We were served promptly by a lady with a wonderful sense of humor. As international foodies, our expectations were not high, but we were surprised. There is a limited menu but the tomato and basil soup was excellent, the breakfast used quality ingredients and was perfectly well prepared. Most important, the cappuccino was jolly good.
This little cafe ought to be a gem, but the owner is such a miserable looking man, it is hard to enjoy the experience he offers, you feel as you are sitting there as if you have deeply offended him, simply by walking in and ordering. But, times are a changing, and unless he mends his ways, someone who lives very near will drive him out of business in a pop up cafe over the road. I and many others would prefer to patronise somewhere with a warmer welcome.
The coffee and food here are outstanding. I’m not sure where they source their smoked salmon, but the Nordic breakfast is simply amazing! I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
