Description

The Waitrose café offers a varied menu with vegetarian options and a pleasant atmosphere, ideal for light meals and coffee breaks. However, patrons frequently encounter long queues, slow service, and food quality issues, including poorly cooked dishes. Despite its spacious, inviting setting and friendly staff, inconsistent experiences often overshadow the charm of this café. Limited availability of certain items, delays due to equipment failure, and a lack of urgency in clearing tables contribute to a frustrating dining experience. While there are positive aspects, many patrons feel that improvements are needed to meet the high expectations associated with the Waitrose brand.

Fancied a snack before the washshop. some jobsworth by the Perspex barrier tried to tell me the kochers were out (at 2:30 o'clock,) although it is open to 3 o'clock. the hours are limited enough, but that's just bad. please get your finger from waitrose. you don't stand out enough to keep my need to time

Fast and one of three meals never came. when we asked where it was, they said it was missing, and the ovens were out now, and they offered a refund that we accepted. then they offered to prepare the missed article....Welcome together with many excuses. well made waitrose for the rettung of the situation!

Large cafe that offers a variety of vegetarian options for both takeout and dine-in. It was a pleasant surprise to receive complimentary drinking water with our order.

Went near closing time and one of three meals never came. When we enquired where it was, they said it had been missed and the ovens were now off and they offered a refund which we accepted. Then they offered to prepare the missed item. Which they did along with loads of apologies. Well done Waitrose for salvaging the situation!

It appears that recent reviews have been disappointing, with complaints of late, cold food and poor service. Unfortunately, we had a similar experience on a recent Saturday morning when we visited for tea and toasted tea cake. The two staff members seemed half asleep and took a while to prepare our drinks and cake, despite us being the only customers in line. We sat down at a table surrounded by dirty dishes, and when we asked for napkins, we were handed a large pile to put away ourselves. A smile and a few words could have made a difference, but unfortunately, the lack of hospitality was evident. Although this restaurant used to be our go-to spot, we are now considering visiting Costa, which is just down the road.
