Sakonis on Hatch End high street is a wonderful place for a relaxed family meal. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and inviting, making it perfect for dining with family or friends. The food is absolutely delicious, with a great variety of dishes on the menu — from Indian favourites to Indo-Chinese options, so there’s something for everyone. It’s fully vegetarian and everything we tried was fresh and full of flavour. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-maintained, and they also offer a good selection of drinks to complement the meal. Highly recommend Chili Paneer and Chili garlic mogo. Consistently great food and a lovely vibe — highly recommended.
Wasn't much fun receiving hot food on stone cold plates. In winter the serving plates need to warmed up otherwise the food goes cole to quickly and then it's not enjoyable. We went for Saturday lunch. Also wasn't impressed that there were brooms, mops, dust pans etc lying around near the main counter area in view of customers. I was facing that wall and it gave me the ick factor. Didn't like that the hostess tried to hurredily force us to sit on a small table for two- saying that the table we wanted was reserved and no one actually came in the whole time we dined and left. Additionally there were two older women taking up a booth that would normally seat 6. Bit of double standards going on there. It is very expensive to dine here now. Wouldn't go there too often.
Not much to comment on as just stop over for a masala tea. Pani Puri did not hit the spot either. Card payment system was not working so did not order much : 6Dec25 Decided to revisit after 4 years. Has got worse. Ordered Avocado chat Somasa chat, Chispy bhajia and Methi Ghota. Ghota never came despite ordering it. Avocado chat was just a smashed avocado with sev on it, served on a tiny cup saucer, not kidding. Crispy bhajia was too crispy and pricey for the amount served. Did not stay for the mains as there is plenty of other choice on the high street. Would not go there again. Don't know how long this place will last. :
I eat meat myself, but this veg spot was very nice, especially the mock duck! It’s better than a lot of actual duck I’ve had before Highly recommend!
