This has been our local for years and we've always loved the food here. In particular the chili paneer and special wings. Since the new ownership took over a couple of years ago the decor has improved tremendously but it's come at the cost of the atmosphere that it used to have. It was guaranteed to be full or nearly full at the weekends but now it's often empty which is a real shame. We'll continue coming here though as the food remains delicious and we always get treated well as the staff all know us! The prices are perhaps slightly steep but not extortionate and the portions are very generous.
Having recently moved to North Harrow from Tooting Bec and Brick Lane, where we have tried a lot of Indian fusion cuisine, we were pleasantly surprised by the incredibly delicious food at this restaurant. The Boy, who has spent time in Nepal, found the momos to be very authentic. We both loved the tandoori prawns and the paneer was so light, fluffy, and succulent that I wanted to buy it in bulk for my own paneer dishes.
We only stopped in for a quick drink and catch up on the sofas. The place had a slight damp smell, hopefully the owners will address that soon.
Terrible! We went with family that are actually from Kenya and were here on holiday and they were extremely excited for this place we went there with empty stomachs because we had heard the food was fantastic... This was the biggest mistake we ended up waiting almost 2 hours for our food, I managed to leave the restaurant to pick my sister from a nearby station (Harrow Wealdstone) being new to the area got completely lost and still made it back to the table before our food!! When the food arrived it was cold and had to send it back to be reheated and frankly it was nothing great even then! This would still not be so bad if we werent the only people dining in the restaurant there were only a few people by the bar and to this day i don't know what took them so long!!! It's a real shame, hopefully we just went on an off day and this isn't their general standard but due to this I will never return and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!
The Indian food with so-called Kenyan twist was tasty and made to taste (i.e. ask for mild or medium hot food and that's how it came cooked). The ambience was more like a sports bar with a big screen showing either cricket or football. In recent times the place seemed empty. The take aways ordered were filling and nice. However, last time we tried to order a take away the place seemed closed down!
Nestled in Harrow, Saras is making a name for itself with its unique fusion of Indian and Kenyan flavors. Diners rave about the delicious vegetarian momos, tandoori prawns, and generous Goan Fish Curry portions, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to rich, authentic flavors. While some express concerns over slow service and variable atmosphere, especially during quieter times, the friendly staff and accommodating chef often leave a lasting impression. With offerings like lamb chops on sizzling platters and engaging sports broadcasts, Saras appeals to families and sports enthusiasts alike, promising a delightful culinary experience amid Harrow's competitive dining scene.
