Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant received mixed reviews from customers, with some criticizing slow service, spicy food, and high prices, while others raved about the delicious dosas and excellent service. Despite complaints of overcooked and dry food at Sankalp, there were positive remarks about the dosa options and friendly staff, along with praise for the restaurant's unique offerings compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. With a variety of dosa fillings and fresh juices, this place offers a taste of Indian cuisine that has been missing in the UK. Overall, while some improvements may be needed, the restaurant has potential and could be worth a visit.
I was very disappointed with my experience at Sankalp on February 21st. The award they received should be withdrawn! I dined with my family, including 2 children, as we enjoy trying out different restaurants. The portions were minimal and too expensive. The food was overcooked and dry, and my wife even found uncut chilis in her dosa. It is time for new management and a new chef. Additionally, they added a service fee to the bill. With so many other options in the area, I would not be surprised if Sankalp does not last much longer. We will not be returning and I definitely will not recommend this restaurant to friends and family. It seems that the management does not value feedback or reviews, which may explain why the restaurant was empty on Valentine's Day.
The Indian restaurant we visited was the worst. I had emailed the restaurant before booking to inquire about the freshness of the food and if it was made to order. I specifically requested mild dishes and they confirmed that it was possible. However, when we went on Valentine's Day, the restaurant was empty and the food was very spicy and served in small portions. I asked for a milder dish but they refused, suggesting that we add natural yogurt to tone down the spiciness. We paid for our appetizers and left, as it appeared that all the food was precooked and they could not accommodate our request for mild dishes. The staff was rude and unhelpful, and they did not respond to my emails seeking clarification.
This restaurant is amazing! I have always been disappointed with the dosa options in Britain compared to what I am used to in India. However, that all changed last night when I dined at this place. I enjoyed it so much that I had three dosas, with my favorite being the pav bhaji dosa. I highly recommend it. I saw someone mention the price, but it is definitely worth it. Good food may come at a cost, but the satisfaction from a delicious meal is priceless.
Not brilliant. for south indian food is not much different than chennai dosa or saravana bhavan. are however ready to pay restaurant prices, but for a quick eating experience. average teller price is approx. £7/8, while others are £4. double the difference, but not double the price than others in the opposite value. Amazingly, a cheese dosa £7,25! incredible price.
Best South Indian Food I've ever tasted. This is the most welcome addition to the South Indian food scene in London. They live upto their name. Quality of food and service was excellent. Will definately visit again. Its nothing like Chennai Dosa and Sarvana Bhawan run of the mill ****. Food is good quality and value for money. Decor is fabulous.. No wonder they have won the award for Best South Indian Restaurant from Times Group
