Stayed for a night and had a (beautiful) meal in the restaurant. Loved every minute. The staff were friendly and professional, the room was super comfortable and the bath was enormous (we were in the cottage). The food? Just wow. We had three courses each and were grateful that we didn't have to go far to get to bed! Scallops and soup to start, venison and seabass for main and a cheese board and creme brulee for dessert. Was all utterly perfect and we shall certainly return, thank you
Booked a table for sunday dinner. Had 3 courses. Was delicious. Beef was perfect rare! Had scallop starter beautifully cooked. Forced down a dessert and to be fair they are quite a generous size. Could have easily shared but my eyes were too big for my belly. Not the cheapest for a sunday dinner but was worth it. Plus no older kids with us today just the 2 if us. Not very big inside but nice and cozy loved the lights. Would love to be stuck there when it snows. Staff very friendly
Simply Excellent . We have stayed several times over the last few years and it improves every time . It is an outstanding small hotel in an untouched hamlet in North Yorkshire. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Quiet
I delivered there and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely countryside pub in Yorkshire. Service: 5 Location: 5
Food was absolutely fantastic and really faultless. It is expensive but it is worth every penny. The downside is the service. I didn’t find the staff friendly and they were very clearly stressed. Little things like waiting for a drink for 1 person and reminding the staff to bring us some more water after asking once. I heard the manager politely telling off the staff right next to our table and saying ‘don’t you understand English’ which was quite shocking. Also if you serve a dish on a hot plate please warn the guests as I did burn my finger as I wasn’t warned and sorry it wasn’t obvious to me! So overall visit for the food but be mindful of the service. Rooms: 5 Service: 1 Location: 5
