We were pleasantly surprised to discover a great fish and chip shop at this establishment. The food was absolutely perfect and the portions were generous. We plan to order for just one person next time and share.

Fantastic fish and chips comes in a lovely big tray makes eating easier, great proper mushy peas, can be hard to park on main road as always popular, open every day lunch and night time even on a Sunday night

The restaurant was occasionally let down by the staff. The fish and chips were okay, but some of the staff were odd and seemed ignorant, lacking in communication skills. There were inconsistent portion sizes, with larger orders sometimes receiving less than medium orders and vice versa. This may be due to the restaurant being the only one in Boroughbridge.

The Golden Bite restaurant seems to have a lack of consistent staff, with inexperienced young employees lacking basic customer service skills. This has resulted in inconsistent quality during my recent visits. On my last visit, they only had one cooking pan which may have explained why the fish was excellent but the chips were stone cold and soggy. The restaurant used to be great, but the quality has declined.

Had not been here for quite some while until just recently, however we found the fish to be excellent as always, but the chips left a lot to be desired, why do fish'n'chip shops insist on frying the scrappy tiny ends of the potatoes and serving them as part of your portion of chips, come on chippy's, potatoes are not that expensive compared to what chips are priced at, lets get back to proper whole chips, the Golden Bite used to serve really good chips when we started coming here some years ago, also the price seems to have increased by far more than inflation, also some of the young kids working here need adult supervision in my view.Having said all that, still a good Fish'n'Chip shop to visit.
