Nestled in the heart of Masham, this gastropub presents a mixed dining experience for patrons. While the beer garden and friendly atmosphere charm visitors, the quality of food often falls short, with inconsistent dishes ranging from lukewarm meals to poorly cooked items like tough beef and rock-hard potatoes. However, some guests rave about the exceptional fish and chips, hearty Sunday roasts, and attentive service, all at affordable prices. With a welcoming staff and a cozy vibe enhanced by local regulars, this place might just win you over if you’re lucky enough to sample the right dishes.

Was Rick at Bruce Arms a mag?
Nice lad behind bar, decent mix of ales at regular prices and a smashing interior with a great set of cosy nooks and family tables. We didn’t have time to eat but the diners I noted were enjoying their food and it certainly smelled great. Lovely pub with an enormous well facilitated beer garden. Price per person: £1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.

What John Carmen dislikes about Bruce Arms:
The food was lukewarm and didn't have that homemade touch. The worst part was the service; the server approached us twice to see if we were done, despite it being obvious that we weren't. The second time, they even asked if they could pack up my uneaten meal, even though I only had a single chip and a piece of scampi left on my plate. If they wanted us to leave, they could have simply asked. I can't recommend this pl... View all feedback.

We spent the weekend in Masham and decided to have lunch at The Bruce Arms. It’s a fantastic pub with a great atmosphere and creative cuisine. My wife and I both ordered the steak pie with chips, and it was the best pie we've ever had! The chips were also delicious. While the food might take a little while to arrive, they were quite busy, and everything is made fresh. We live an hour and 40 minutes away, but we will definitely return to The Bruce Arms for the steak pie alone.

One of the best pubs I've been to in the Yorkshire dales. It was great to see a busy crowd in a pub once again , both eating and drinking. The food was great, we both had the cheeseburger 10/10 ! The onion rings were the best I've had in a long time. Would definitely visit again ! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
