Description

The first Macado's restaurant was established in 1978 by Richard Macher in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. It quickly gained popularity for its unique atmosphere combining cartoon, antique, and local nostalgic decorations. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring affordable yet satisfying sandwiches, subs, and entrees. Known for attracting a college crowd, Macado's has expanded to include locations near Virginia Tech, Radford University, and Roanoke College. With steady growth, new locations have been continually added over the years, including in West Virginia and North Carolina. Some Macado's outlets can be found in malls, such as Mercer Mall in Bluefield, Grand Pavilion in Roanoke, and Concord Mills near Lowe's Motor Speedway in North Carolina. Other locations cater to the downtown business community, such as Farmville and Galax. Retaining its independence, Macado's now operates restaurants in Central and Southwest Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The comprehensive menu has evolved and grown, with popular events like the Macado's Annual St. Patrick's Day Party and the Macado's Halloween Party drawing increasing crowds. Loyal patrons have incorporated Macado's into their own traditions, making it a beloved spot for gathering. Just being at Macado's is an experience in itself!.

I went with a small group of coworkers while on an out of town business trip after several other coworkers recommended Macado's despite it being a 30 mile out of the way drive for them. The chicken wings, although small, were delicious and had a bit ofcrunchiness still left in the skin despite the buffalo sauce. This was a big plus. I had the bacon cheeseburger with an onionring on it and the whole sandwich was excellent. There is something about the burger bun that was just the right sort of chewyand it had a good flavor. Tall, tall burger on the plate and well worth the price. Fries were basic but good. Our server was avery quiet guy but he did great and had solid answers for any questions we asked him. I personally would not go after hoursbecause I am not the bar hopping sort but there looked to be a lot of potential space for groups and lots of beer available.Lunch crowd was just the right side for me. Parking in the evening must be insane since the lot is small. Overall, everyone inmy party loved their food and we had a solid lunch.

We have eaten at other locations and it has been great. This one not so much. The sandwich got sent back 2 times for temperature then it was missing a whole meat it was suppose to come with. The homemade chips are the best around with the French onion dip!

Holy heck there's a lot of value in your meal here, and it's delicious! Service was a little slow, but they let us know they were short-staffed in advance. Will definitely be back if in the area again.

I went here last week with my sister for the first time I would like to say it was a very pleasant experience. The food was excellent my sister I shared everything. We got the chili cheese fries, chicken tenders, a bacon cheeseburger and my personal favorite Mac Cheese. I didn’t think the Mac cheese was gonna be good cuz most restaurants make them in bulk it’s always water down but this was really delicious. Also, the service here was great. Our server was a lovely lady. She checked o

Consistently the same experience each time we go.. Takes a little while to get your order in (I believe due to being understaffed), but it's pretty good when you receive it. Food was good, homemade chips were realllly good, drinks (although a little pricey) were decent. Sadly, they are always out of the fried pickles. Nice little arcade, about a dollar a piece to play. Our waitress was great as usual.
