What Amber Collins doesn't like about Spice of Life:
For $13 lunch buffet,I guess you get what you paid for. This restaurant only had 6 main dishes plus the rice to choose from with one salad, fruit mix and one dessert. Food was substandard, not that great at all. I've had way better Indian food... For those who choose to come here... I was shocked to be told off by the manager/front server at the cashier informing me that "it was a rule" pointing to a sign behind me,... View all feedback.
This is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food and is perfect for families or large groups. The waitresses are very kind and I have visited many times, always enjoying the great food. I highly recommend it!
This North Indian restaurant impressed us even before stepping foot inside, this was due to the free food on offer to the needy and their incredibly cheap lunch buffet advertisement. Once inside, we do a walk by of the buffet and check out all of the cricket memorabilia adorning the walls. Once seated the much anticipated naan arrives at the table, as does a goat curry a dish that will always appear on our order if it is available. This version is very nice, the meat is tender with good flavour. We were also introduced to another dish that many of us had not come across, the Malai Kofta. Bobbing in a thick and creamy korma style sauce were these flavoursome cottage cheese and cashew nut dumplings. This is a dish we will be looking for in the future.
Next on the Taste Food Tour is the Spice of Life. Have you heard of Taste Food Tours? They are a non-profit organization that promotes diversity and cultural harmony. Their tour in Harris Park is fantastic and offers new things to try for those unfamiliar with Indian cuisine. The first thing I noticed was a large sign outside of the Spice of Life offering free food for those in need and homeless individuals. It's great that their food supports the local community and doesn't go to waste. The restaurant is a casual eatery located in Harris Park.
I had an excellent first impression of this restaurant. I initially just wanted an Indian snack, but ended up staying for dinner. I started with the 'Ragda Pani Puri' and then had the 'Reshmi Kabab with Naan'. The staff was polite and friendly, especially a young lady who provided helpful advice and made the experience even better. It was a light meal but definitely worth the price. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning in the future!
We tried the lunch buffet on a Sunday. The buffet spread was good with good number of main course curries with vegetarian and non vegetarian options. However there were no entree options in the buffet. The quality of food was good with the right amount of spice and succulent meats.
