Hospitality with a capital "H"! Our needs have always been well taken care of, and the Devonshire tea is particularly delightful, especially with the lovely lavender. It’s a wonderful place for a relaxing experience or a bit of romantic daydreaming—highly recommended! View all feedback.
Lavendar hue is perhaps my most favourite place on earth! A lavendar farm located by the ovens river in the calm and picturesque town of Harrietville, 15 20 mins drive from Bright. We first visited the cafe a few years ago for Devonshire tea, and immediately fell in love with the secluded riverside setting, gorgeous cottage, beautiful gardens and the kindness and amazing vibes of the owners Rona Bill not to mention the addictive scones Rona bakes!! We have since visited and stayed at the B B at least once a year! Rona is an amazing host. The cottage, built by Bill, is always spotless clean, and feels special with little flowers Rona puts in different spots. Breakfast is gorgeous, with little touches of fresh fruits, herbs from the garden, flowers, etc.Every time we leave, we miss lavendar hue immediately and quickly start talking about our next visit.
A fantastic setting, great accommodation and an amazing and kind hearted host. Will definitely be back again.
Since we discovered Lavender Hue 17 years ago we have returned every year in the autumn and spring to experience such contrasting beauty. As a busy health professional it has become my own unique, physical, mental and spiritual health retreat. Key to this is the silence and peace; only the sounds of the river flowing close by, especially each evening as we go to sleep listening to the gentle flow. Apart from the water flowing there are the constant bird songs. This silence allows us to truly appreciate the timeless beauty of the azure mountains rising steeply in front of the balcony and the array of beautiful, aged trees in the verdantly green valley. In all our travels we have never before discovered such a peaceful, silent retreat from the noise and busyness of life. This peace and tranquility allows us to refresh and revitalise ready for return to mainstream life. We could never tire of this uniquely beautiful retreat always returning with immense gratitude for the generosity of our hosts.
We had three days enjoying Harrietville and surrounds from this well appointed and cosy loft studio. Pampered by our delightful hosts Rona and Bill, we couldn 't have asked for more. The studio is warm with all the mod cons and the sight and sound of the Ovens River just 'out the back '. A tasty continental breakfast was included, delivered each morning with a smile. We look forward to making several returns to Lavender Hue
As soon as you get out of the car, the first thing you’ll notice is the heavenly scent of lavender on the breeze and the beautiful, tranquil gardens. As you enter the cafe you are greeted by the warm and welcoming Rona. (I loved how you were wearing purple that day). A lovely conversation, lunch on the outside deck under the umbrellas amongst the sounds of nature, equals a most relaxing and enjoyable experience. Thanks Rona, it’s obvious you love what you do. The hardest decision we had to make was whether to order the Devonshire Tea or the Lavender Ice Cream! Both divine!
