Wandi Pub - Alpine

I had like lunch with the family at the Wandi pub today. Food was great, and promptly served. The 'Parma technician' did very well today. Nice, old country pub, where it seems that time stood still. Ice cold crafty beers too. A definite improvement from 4-5 years ago, when we last visited.

We booked in for dinner knowing that this place gets busy and we were staying at Wandi for this visit. It was for husbands birthday. We got there nice and early and was shown to our tiny little table squished into the corner and were promptly told that there was a large table coming in and to order quickly or we would have a long wait. A minute later another staff member came and told us our table was booked at 8 to other diners and we would get the "hurry on" if we took our time. WT!!!!Menu was limited, and son wanted something reasonable healthy, which there was nothing. The meals we got were very good but the experience left us very disappointed.

From a simple menu what amazing food. We had the Parma and yes it is a staple pub food item, but the quality of the dish was unexpected, it was yummy, we also had the lamb Ragu and surprisingly it was fine dining not just a chunky casserole with pasta, yummy again. The service was great with both pub owners and the bar staff passing by and asking if we enjoyed the meal. I've dined at many places before and am these days rarely impressed but hats off to this treasure.

We went to Wandi for lunch and had the burger a fries. Plenty of food and healthy at that. The person taking the order made a mistake but appeared to be learning and was apologetic. We would go back again, but would make sure we had more of an appetite to get through the food;)

In an unassuming building this pub has some of the best food! Huge,delicious hearty meals in a relaxed atmosphere.
