Fantastic bar! Amazing atmosphere with great friends and good times. Definitely the top spot in Harlem.

We used to frequent this bar often, but during our last visit, one of the bartenders mistakenly poured ginger ale instead of tequila in one of our drinks. When we brought it to his attention, he laughed and walked away. A manager later apologized and gave us some complimentary shots. However, we have decided not to return to this bar.

Fantastic bar with outside seating on the narrow, quaint and picturesque Strait St. There was also a brilliant band playing on a balcony overhanging the street.

“What lovely, hard-working lads” was the description of the staff at Kennedy as reported to me by the owner of the hotel when I’d told him where I’d gone for a drink at the end of the day. By the end of the week had i’d whole-heartedly accepted his description. I’m nearly 60 and was in Valletta for a week’s holiday. We like to sight-see, do a lot of walking, so my wife tends to go to bed at around 10pm. I’m more of a late bird so I wander off for a quiet (usually) pint or two before retiring. I found Kennedy on my 1st evening as it’s situated very near my hotel, just off Republic. I chose Kennedy because it had a lot of local patrons sitting outside chatting whilst a small blues group were playing from a balcony above the bar. This bar had local customers whilst 3 other bars around it were practically empty. The tables outside were busy so I sat inside and ordered a beer local Cisk beer on draught which came, together with a small plate of ciabatta to welcome me to the bar. I returned every night for a couple of drinks and was always warmly welcomed one of the lads gave me a drinks tab where I’d settle up at the end; not a big thing in itself but typical of their customer service. My wife came out to Kennedy on one evening all the tables outside were reserved for a local get-together but we were told to use a table before the gathering got underway. We ordered a snack of mini burgers that went down very well. We also met some of the locals who were kind enough to let us use the table. Different clientele every evening and live music on some nights that was of a high quality (I’m a pro classical musician so I know of which I speak). Some nights busy, some nights not. Open late, great snacks, wonderfully kept beer and favoured by local residents, run by young men who wish to look after their customers. We will return to Valletta in a few years and I know where I shall be spending my evenings

For starters, simply do not go!! As for the food, we ordered 3 IDENTICAL platters apart from the poor quality and the fact that it was way too overpriced for the things we had, the platters had different cheeses AND different dips... but that is nothing compared to when we went to dip some bread in the ‘’olive oil’’ provided and to our dismay it was FRYING OIL, I mean seriously, how do you expect to fool people like that? As for the drinks, we were served a 6.50/7 euro cocktail in the same glass as one serves a 2.75 euro vodka coke... that is NOT the way you serve cocktails! 3 of my friends ordered a long island iced tea cocktail got a rum with coke in return ??‍ As for dessert, well we obviously didn’t stay, we paid the overpriced bill and moved on to another bar! Put simply, avoid like the plague. Sincerely, Someone who has never written a bad review before this, but this poor quality has put me over the edge.
