We went on a Sunday evening and had some local beer and roast. The roast was amazing. I had lamb and my son had chicken. This place is a gem! Right outside the local train station and filled with people enjoying community. My wife noticed...the everyone was talking to one another and not on their phones. We liked the atmosphere and people so much we went back Tuesday night and were not disappointed. Must try if you o... View all feedback.

Sadly, poor food. Tepid vegetables and Yorkshire pudding on all five meals. Coffees served without spoon, milk or sugar and soggy biscuits. Waiter took away plates too early before everyone finished and asked if we wanted desserts! Atmosphere was good but will not eat here...again. View all feedback.
The railway tavern is exactly the kind of pub they wish as their native. dark decor gives the traditional English pub vibe and eat well expensive. the menu is not something special what the pub food goes, but has enough variation to match most carnivores, although nice could fight for options here. the jerk chickenburger is recommended by me, and they can order some delicious little bar snacks when they get a drink sponge cake and scotch eggs always get a thumb of my kumpels a thing that is something different the railway tavern is the traditional pub game at the entrance, although I say that without any warning what kind of game it is actually. first it looks like a...read more
Roshans Kitchen in the Railway Tavern is fantastic the food and service are simply the best . We had so many starters : jerk belly pork cauliflower lamb croquettes veg croquettes padron peppers and more . Absolutley fantastic . Belly pork main curry’s chicken prawn and terrific chocolate brownie. The Bar is separate but the staff are Lovley there beer excellent nice bottle of red £22 not bad at all . Whole experience brilliant. We were there for 4hrs absolutely terrific afternoon xxx
Whilst the staff are friendly and welcoming the food is very mediocre. Save your money there are much better places to eat in the area.
I was looking online for a pub to eat out in Crouch End that had a menu that was a bit different from the bog standard meal options you usually get in a pub. I stumbled upon their menu then found out it was the chef (Roshan) who used to work at the famous Banners (that closed down last year) and so we had to go and we were not disappointed. Two of us are vegetarians and we had more than just one choice for a nice change. The meat eaters were happy too. The friend plantain and garlic fries were amazing accompaniments too our main dishes. The service was friendly and can’t fault anything in our experience. The bar and restaurant (Rostand Kitchen) are both under one roof but are working as separate entities, meaning you pay separately and you order your own drinks at the bar, We will be back 100% sure of that.
Food was so tasty and for a pub the calamari was amazing! Definitely recommend coming for a visit and try the calamari and chicken wings.
