The restaurant’s attractive decor sets the stage for both casual coffee breaks and more formal meals. While the service is consistently praised for its friendliness and attentiveness, the dining room has been noted for its overly bright, impersonal ambiance that could benefit from softer lighting and decor. Diners have enjoyed expertly presented dishes, though some mains have faced criticism for dryness. Overall, The Linden Tree appears poised for growth, promising delightful meals in a lovely setting amidst the Leicestershire countryside.
This was a really lovely little place to have morning coffee, we had done a lot of travelling this day, stopped off in Lutterworth superb morning coffee cake was on offer here. The staff were so nice very very friendly.
I thought we were going to a fancy restaurant, but I was very mistaken. I would recommend avoiding this place unless you enjoy dining in a low-quality atmosphere.
We recently visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch with 4 adults and 2 children. The restaurant is located within the historic Catthorpe Manor Hotel and offers amazing views and surroundings. We enjoyed 3 courses, with starters that were perfectly sized and delicious. The service was quick and the young servers were very attentive. The main course included a large Yorkshire pudding, which made me very happy and tasted delicious. The pudding was served promptly and was a delightful, homemade Apple crumble with custard. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant for a unique dining experience in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside. We will definitely be coming back again.
I recently took a friend out for lunch at this restaurant. The starter was beautifully presented and had excellent flavors. However, we were both disappointed with the blade of beef main course. While it looked nice and had good presentation, the beef was served like pulled pork in a tower, which was dry. There was only a small drizzle of jus which wasn't enough to add moisture to the meat. Unfortunately, my guest left most of their dish and I felt embarrassed. The dessert, on the other hand, was delicious and well-presented. I was saddened that my guest didn't enjoy the main course, and although I tried to finish mine, I didn't enjoy it either. If I were to go again, I would opt for a fish dish instead.
Food was beautifully presented, but some (lamb) rather overcooked and dry. Service was professional and friendly, however, gave the impression we were being hurried through. The restaurant itself is attractive, and welcoming.
