This was our second visit to Copita it was our favorite dinner of our week long trip to Mount Desert Island! Excellent wine list, fantastic food and great service in a really quaint space. We highly recommend! View all feedback.
What Jayson Gleason doesn't like about Copita:
The ambiance is nice and the service was fine. The crispy sprouts were the winner of the evening. Huge portion and tasty. The entrees were disappointing, especially for the price. The bolognese was almost inedibly salty and too sweet. The halibut was cooked perfectly but the pumpkin polenta was too sweet and the plate was unbalanced flavor wise. Good wines by the glass lust that hit all price points and many options! View all feedback.

Every course was outstanding. Best steak I’ve ever eaten and the service was the best I’ve ever experienced.
We had an absolutely lovely evening here! From the first greeting to the final check everyone was friendly and helpful. We snagged one of the last early reservations and drove over from Bar Harbor. Both servers were politely turning down reservation requests and walk-ins while we were there. For dinner we shared the simple greens which contained beets and thinly sliced apples among the greens with an amazing vinaigrette. We also split the scallops which were sublime. Perfectly cooked in a bed of maple sweet potatoes. A generous portion too, seemed designed to be shared. For entrees we had the halibut (literally perfect in every way) and the lobster with pasta, also a lovely dish. We paired dinner with a French Chablis from their interesting /eclectic wine list. Our final course was a lovely panna cotta and a port wine flight. Our only regret was that we had a cocktail before we left our inn in Bar Harbor. Mouse the bartender had some unique offerings that we would love to try. All in, we would come back in a heartbeat and plan to the next time we are in the area.
The server/waiter/host let us know that it was the only server on the floor and that they are short employees once we have entered. she also reminded us of various occasions that she is the only one that serves the tables. she was pretty friendly, but with a little “thanks for her geduld, I do the best I can” at any opportunity. Overall, we did not know whether we should apologize for them or feel at the owners because they do not give their help or simply complain about the shortage of work. in any case, we have received the message that the server has been overwhelmed and our expectations are limited. that said eating was very good, and the bartender made very good cocktails (although in contrast to the overwhelming server, the bartender spent most of the time with patrons at the bar in a very relaxed way. strange to see a server open complaining to be overworked while the bartender just hang and wait for drinks orders in a 15 table restaurant).
We were recommended this restaurant for our anniversary dinner by our innkeeper, and it did not disappoint. The place was clean, and we were seated quickly despite being the last reservation. Our server was friendly and professional. Both the Maine Squeeze and the Super Tuscan were excellent. We began our meal with the lamb aprons as an appetizer, which were fantastic, and everyone had the halibut for the main course. It was out of this world! We would definitely like to make this an annual tradition. Additionally, the personalized note on the table with jubilee wishes was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated.
