Researched a lot of Indian Restaurants and found this one as the highest ranked Indian Restaurant in Hannover. Went there with little trepidation, but I shouldn't have worried. This was one of the best Indian Restaurants outside India that I have visited. The food there was excellent and it's no wonder that we went there both nights that we stayed in Hannover. The Chicken Tikka masala and the Lamb Bhuna were excellen... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Guru Restaurant Hannover:
I am from India, I know what actual Indian food and more importantly service should be. I have eaten better Indian food in Frankfurt/Munich than in India with impeccable service. Although the ratings are good, the food and the service is highly average. Looked like...the guys out there wanted to bill us more and thus helped over order! Price point is not the cheapest, but the service is not good. View all feedback.
I visited as a solo dinner in a warm night. At about 7:15 o'clock, all the exterior tables were taken, so they gave me one. The service was friendly. The waitress was apologetic about her English, but I said her is good enough!... My hopes were awakened by a really good salad starter with mango, cashews and many other good things. I was less enthusiastic about the Scampi Curry Main. It was generous enough, but the sauce could simply have been a reduction of tomato soup. I'm sure it wasn't. The beer was cold, the prices were fair. If I go back to Hanover, I might try alternatives before I come back here, but don't let me stop you trying yourself.
Unfortunately, It was far from being a good experience. We came to wait 30min for our first drinks and 1h05min for our food!! Okay, they brought us some "line chips" with 2 dips to help against hunger. only 3 chips from the... The service was how you can't understand the fastest. I don't suggest you go if you're hungry! I ordered as a drink sparkling wine Prosecco, not fresh enough, not really sparkling more. It tastes like it's from an old open bottle that has been in the refrigerator for days... When the main courts finally arrived, the waiter “Dirty” plate gave us, we could recognize some fingerprints on him, a pity that I didn’t have a proof image! as if a drop of a random sauce fell on the plate and instead to clean it with a tissue, the person just cleaned it with his finger?? My friend kindly asked the waiter if we could get other plates “pure” we do not forget that we are in Corona times... Yes Let us use these prétexte. Unfortunately, the waiter did not come back with clean plates... and not even with a “Sorry” ... The food was mediocre, didn’t cost anything special, but we were so happy to finally get food that we ended everything! we are picky, but we do not waste too we have unhappy with what we have ordered. Some mistakes can happen well, but with ; false salad? Wrong chicken? Well? A little too much for a table... Anyway, we felt so upset by the absence of charm from our waiter and uncomfortable by his attitude. the way he came to not really bring the food professional, almost rough giving and withdrawing the plates to make it no worse, we decided not to mention that we did not “right” food! At the end of the evening we had a good time because we were between friends, and the terrace is super nice outside on the street, we could enjoy the beautiful weather... But I don't think we're coming back to this restaurant.
The night we arrived, they were tight and the disc was broken. It was not surprising that we had to wait long before we could eat. It was worth waiting. Everyone in the group agreed that it was one of the best Indian food we had in a while.
Very punctual delivery. Delicious Indian food.
My vindaloo a little bit. the naan cold and hard = old. the chicken tandoori was okay but boring. an increase urgently necessary. Go to london to look at you like that.
