The service is friendly but not exaggerated; Old Hase, who obviously did this for decades. No high-tech devices are required for ordering and accounting. The good old note of the beer lid makes it too. There is a separate smoking room to which the door is usually open. So the pub is still slightly smoked. I think that makes the charm...
