After first stumbling into Mezzo for a late night Schneider Weisse in 2006 we discovered some seriously good vegan options on the menu such as a chunky roast vegetable lasagne and an Asian style tofu wok stir fry with noodles. This quickly became an essential place to go on subsequent visits to the city, usually when the vegan vegetarian places might have already closed for the evening. Informal, relaxed, music friendly with an open kitchen delivering excellent well prepared food. This is a place that embraced veganism years before the current revolution. I’d love to go back now they have a separate vegan menu.
