Basil Restaurant - Hannover

I went as part of a large group, over 40 of us. The atmosphere was great set in old brick built stables it is is delightful.The service was friendly and amazingly efficient. We had 5 courses all of which were excellent. I can't comment on the wine list as we had an Argentinian wine producer who shared with us his choice of wine. I think this is a great place for a large gathering .

Definitely make a reservation as the restaurant was full after 8pm on a Thursday. The interior is an interesting brick design with curved ceiling and columns within the dining area. Tables are nicely located without the feeling of being too close to other diners. The menu had several options (pre-fixe style) to choose including a chef's limited time special recommendation. The portions were adequately sized and the presentation was truly wonderful and creative. The wait staff were not intrusive and allowed for a nice pace to the meal. On street parking near the restaurant is available and is located not far from the main church in town.

The waitress who served us was fantastic: careful, friendly and professional. The food was good, the wine choice is enormous. A bit pricy, but it is worth it!

Impressive building with good atmosphere. However,we were waiting nearly 1 hour for our meal and the restaurant wasn’t even full..My venison was amazing,soft as butter and the carrots were delicious,but it was cold.My partner’s fish was hot was blend,not seasoned..My panacotta was nothing like it,was rather a yoghurt... Not impressive ,not at all

Leider haben wir keine so guten Erfahrungen gemacht, als wir im letzten Jahr das Basil als Location für unsere Hochzeit in diesem Jahr haben wollten. Der Chef kam zu uns, zeigte uns kurz alles und sagte dann deutlich auf meinen Verlobten blickend, dass die Hochzeitsfeier sofort beendet würde, wenn es Stress gibt. Auf unsere mehrfache Anfrage per Mail, auf die hin wir unser persönliches Angebot erhalten sollten, kam dann gar keine Reaktion mehr. Sowas ist uns bisher noch nie passiert und wir finden die uns gegenüber verbalisierte (falsche) Einstellung des Chefs einfach unmöglich.
