Reviews - Java Jive
Reviews summary
Nestled in the heart of Hannibal, this vibrant eatery boasts an appealing atmosphere and a diverse menu. Patrons have praised the delightful coffee and unique ambiance, ideal for families and coffee aficionados alike. However, several guests voiced concerns over service issues, including mandatory tips and unfulfilled orders. Food quality varied; while some enjoyed the custom sandwiches and healthy options, others found dishes like chicken salad and beer cheese soup lacking. Despite these critiques, many recommend visiting for the charming environment, distinctive treats, and overall cultural experience that this locale offers. Just adjust expectations for service.

Wonderful! My parents took my sister and I to Java Jive during a family vacation over 15 years ago. Their frozen cappuccinos were the best we had ever had. We have often talked about returning there and so today decided to do so. The coffee did notdisappoint!
I love this place! Java Jive is my family's go to place for breakfast, lunch, baked goods, lattes and more. Great selection of offbeat greeting cards, books, puzzles and gifts. It seems that they feature different baked goods each day. And they make bigsugar cookies featuring monthly themes like Pride month 4th of July. The kids always are jazzed when I bring some home as asurprise. And they started taking selfies with the cookies (some posted here) Employees are helpful, pleasant and some evenremember my name. The selection of food, the ambience the seating areas are very creative, welcoming and offer a safe haven tosit with friends, family or enjoy some alone time. Highly recommended!
Cute coffee shop on Main Street featuring light meals and pastries. There's a shop inside with a wide variety of kitschy items for sale as well. Good atmosphere quick service
Not only is this place super cute with its eclectic mismatched dining sets it also has a great mix of quick gift items throughout the whole place. Some for the tourists (Thanks! and some for the 'oops I have that baby shower later today! ' Ofcourse if its food weren 't good that would defeat the purpose of it being a cafe first and boutique second. Luckily the food myfriend and I had was delicious and fairly inexpensive. They also had my absolute favorite flavor of ice cream in stock, BlueMoon; so I might be a bit biased. Definitely worth a pass through, and a scoop or two!
We had a great time here! We needed to eat outside because we had the dog with us. Great outdoor seating. Coffee was great, staff was super nice and friendly and food was very well done and presentation was great. Lots of little knick knacks on sale from various vendors. Really enjoyed this place!! After walking around Hannibal this place was probably the best place to eat!Would definitely return!!

It's not a place you want to miss in hannibal. The atmosphere is awesome. the building is beautiful, colorful, and detailed. as soon as you walk in u can just smell the awesomeness. wonderful tasty treats on a glass case displayed right in front of you. honestly I like their many different flavors of coffee better than Starbucks. then you can also shop for gifts ,souvenirs, and downright funny stuff you wouldn't find anywhere else. after that u have the dining room set up like none I've ever seen. beautiful, unique and fun for all ages. Worth the time to get here! The playful vibes of the counter staff alludes to the magic that built the building. The spirit that women intentionally invested into this space for generations can be felt. It is powerful, healing, and so needed in this world. I hope and pray that many will come and be healed by these precious souls and their willingness to transmute fear into faith! I ordered a custom sandwich with black bean hummus and a side salad. In a town with limited dining options, I was pleased to find a light and healthy choice! They also had a vegan-labeled item in the bakery case.
The restaurant offers a variety of vegan syrups, both regular and sugar free, to enhance your coffee, tea, or steamed vegan milk. They also have a vegan sorbet and black bean hummus on the menu.

I highly recommend the chicken salad at this great little lunch spot located in the heart of historic Hannibal. Delicious!
I was forced to tip while ordering at the counter, and they didn't bring my food. What really bothered me was that my sandwich wasn't really cooked, I will post the pictures. It's a good thing nobody checked on me because I was mad and quite disappointed. I paid a lot of money for the food that I didn't order or receive while sitting down. Ask for a tip if service is provided.
Good place to hang out. Today, there were not many tourists, so the locals had the place mostly to themselves. Great atmosphere and the staff are proficient and friendly.
Was walking by this establishment after visiting the Mark Twain Museum had to go in. The layout is beautifully designed the atmosphere is wonderful. I had a turkey avocado sandwich chai tea. Both were delicious. I’m a big fan of sandwiches the one I had was very satisfying. I truly enjoyed being here. I was just passing through town, but would Love A reason to turn around and come back. Came in for a late lunch, and ordered the ham and cheese quiche special which was above average. This shop also sports a gift shop and plenty of hot and cold drinks. I just wish their food selection was a little wider and went beyond pastries and such! Otherwise it?s a nice little cafe.
