Paniolo Lounge - Hana

We had an incredible stay in the peaceful town of Hana. Our room was stunning and elegantly decorated. We spent a lot of our time on the beautiful balcony, taking in the ocean views. The check-in process was pleasant, and the woman who assisted us was incredibly kind.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed in! It was impeccably clean and well-maintained, and the staff were absolutely fantastic. I appreciated the thoughtful touches in the room, including board games and a fully stocked kitchen. They even provided extra bedding and a map of the town, highlighting the locations of all the food trucks and restaurants. We genuinely loved our experience here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was impressive how they anticipated all our needs and included everything we could possibly think of in the room.

**Long Review:** I booked a one-night stay as part of a hiking trip near Hana, and the room was just what we needed: simple and clean (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom). I really appreciated the communication via email before our arrival, which included information about late check-in procedures and food recommendations. Since we spent the day hiking before arriving, it was helpful to know we needed to get to Hana early enough to eat before places closed down. The late check-in process was very straightforward. The property, while older, is well-maintained and quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. The full kitchen was a nice feature, though we didn’t use it. However, there's a concern I would like to address—though it’s not the fault of Hana Kai Maui, I feel it’s worth mentioning. There seems to be some tension between locals and tourists, which was quite noticeable. As someone who tries to be respectful, follow rules, and be a good guest, I felt unwelcome in Hana. During the short drive from Hana Kai to the food trucks, I encountered some unpleasantness—two individuals gave me the middle finger, and a driver intentionally slowed down to yell insults at me. I witnessed some tourist entitlement firsthand, so I can understand the locals' frustration.

Great service, amazing room with a view!! We slept so soundly in the kind size bed. The showers were delightful with a double adjustable heads. The location is perfect to get to everything around Hana. Check-in and check-out we're very fast easy!

Beautifully situated near sound of surf and unique black rock beach. Creative bamboo use throughout well appointed condo with fresh air lanai overlooking bay.
