Stefano`s Pizzeria -  Hampton,

My husband and I are moving to the area, so we decided to try out the local pizza shop. I like to support local businesses and also find they typically have a higher quality of food. We found the staff to be friendly, but we...were surprised to find out they only take debit or cash. We ordered the Mediterranean pizza which had feta, black olives, onions and chicken on it, and were told it would be 20 minutes, which was fine with us. My complaint is similar to the previous review, that the chicken is anything but, and kind of grossed me out. I am not exactly sure what it is, but it is not chicken, and I ended up taking it off the pizza altogether. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but was very disappointed. I may give them another shot, (since they are the only pizza place around), but will not be ordering anything with chicken on it again.

So so disappointed. Home made sauce, fresh cheese, fresh dough made daily.... yet the chicken is some fake, salty, rubbery, "mock" chicken. How? Why? We LOVED this place as we trusted they only used fresh ingredients and healthy toppings. After our chicken experience tonight, we will not be ordering again as I just can't trust the place. I was blown away that they would use this weird "chicken". I expect it when I order a "chicken" sub from Subway, but not Stefanos. So disappointed.

I found this place few years ago while we were driving to our trailer on the Backhorne Lake. It was absolutely unexpected, we stopped for a quick break and I saw this place. I love pizzas so I was curious : in the middle of the ( almost ;) ) nowhere good pizza ? NO WAY JOSE! We ordered medium one half and half ( I was sure it won`t be good) vegetarian and with meat. Oh, my opinion based on so small place in the mid... ;)was so bad. The pizza was delicious! Crispy basic pizza, so fresh products. And a lot of a lot of a lot of toppings:). So, the best deal for one person is the small pizza 9 inch.( absolutely enough ) - around 12.50 with extra dip.Since that they every time we will go and back from trailer we buy it :). They have also Fresh salads and homemade lasagne and wings.And staff: so nice people, we buy pizzas only during the summer and they remember us :):):)

We don't live close to this pizza place, but we make a special trip about once a month because the crust is just that good. We call ahead and place our order as we leave the Oshawa border, and it's always ready when we arrive on Taunton Road. There are plenty of parking spots available. We love the mini bottles of Coke they offer. The owner knows us by now, and the prices are reasonable. The taste of the pizza is amazing. My only complaint is that I need to learn to wait before diving into the hot goat cheese, as I always end up burning the roof of my mouth.
