L... read more Located within a few minutes walking distance of the Air Space Museum, the Taphouse is small local bar and eatery with a casual vibe and good food and drinks. Located on a small side street with a few other bar/restaurants, this bar has a college dive bar type feel, but the food and beer selection is anything but that. Happy hour every day ? 4-6, with local Virginia pours only being $3, including a lot of the higher alcohol beers. Wide variety of drafts and bottles. Food selection seems simple and pretty standard for a bar of this type, but the quality is much higher than your typical bar wings and burgers. We tried the crab dip, cheese burger, turkey ham club and fresh tuna gyro. Also have a daily list of specials. There is another seating area upstairs, complete with stage for live music. We brought our kids 11YO 4YO in here for dinner at 4pm after visiting the Air Space museum, but might not be the best place for kids later in the night or on weekends. Would definitely come back here again.Another great Yelp find.

Live music started at 9 in the upstairs portion of the restaurant but there was a $10 cover to get upstairs. We could hear the music perfectly from our booth downstairs lol. Onto the food... I ordered the potstickers and the crab dip with pita bread. Omg. Potstickers were to die for and the crab dip was so fresh. Even had jalapeño peppers in it! It was delicious. Bf got spicy meatballs, basket of fries and chicken tenders. He absolutely loved the meatballs and chicken tenders saying it was some of the best he's had. The fries were just OK. Nothing special, kinda droopy lol. Service was excellent. Our service kept our glasses filled and was very friendly. We will definitely come back, this place is great!
