Golden Krust - Hampton
Golden Krust
Description
In a culinary landscape marked by diverse Caribbean offerings, one restaurant struggles to find its footing. While a few diners praise its authentic Jamaican dishes and friendly staff, others express deep dissatisfaction, citing bland flavors, poor customer service, and unappetizing food temperatures. Complaints about long wait times and greasy dishes overshadow the more favorable reviews praising generous portions and reasonable prices. As the restaurant attempts to establish its identity, it faces challenges in satisfying a divided clientele and building a lasting reputation, leaving many customers uncertain about a return visit. The quest for authentic Caribbean cuisine continues.

I go here quite often. I normally get the curry chicken. Today I got jerk chicken which was kind of dry but their food is normally pretty fresh. Long wait times is why I have it a 4
I ordered ox tails with cabbage ?.I swear it tasted like straight SUGAR and Oil. This has to be unhealthiest place to eat. Not to mention the workers DO NOT SMILE . Never coming back this is not what I expected ????
My wife noticed this place while we were driving, so we decided to try it for the first time. The restaurant was clean, tidy, spacious, and had plenty of seating options along with a great selection of dishes. I apologize for the dark photos, but this was one of their lunch specials: several pieces of meat and two veggies. It included chopped jerk chicken, cabbage with peas, brown rice, and a plantain. I also asked if they could drizzle some curry sauce on the rice for a smooth finish.
I picked up a quarter jerk chicken on my way to class and started eating it immediately. The chicken was very cold—probably too cold to be safe to eat. Now I'm on my way home experiencing stomach pain. I didn’t get a receipt, so I couldn’t return it. Very disappointing experience.
