Eating is great as always BUT this visit the bread was so hard I couldn't cut it with a knife. We said the warmer temptation was high, and they compensated us with another bowl of soup with fresh bread? View all feedback.
What Camila Cummerata doesn't like about The Wheel Family Restaurant:
It?s always been a good breakfast diner. Nothing fancy just simple and good. I had the skirt steak and eggs, wheat toast and coffee. They do know how to grill a steak rare and the meat is not a tough old leathery cow. View all feedback.
Since the change of property, the wheel has developed better everywhere. The waiting staff is now beautiful and they were just a few simple means. Also the new menu is very well versed, you will find something you want to eat safely. Food is better now. The old manager was a grumpy idiot and he didn't care that the waitress was so rude. So glad the bike changed the better.

Delicious home, stick your ribs food. Large parts. And cheap. Great service. Friendly people.
We went to the restaurant, the hostess welcomed us, she was very pleasant, there were two people before us, so, of course she sat them first and then she sat us, she told us to enjoy your meal and went away. About 10 minutes later our waitress came to the table and told us she was right with us. Once she came to us, we gave her our order, you could say that she was very nervous, so I knew it was probably her first or second day maybe third. She was a very young Mexican girl. She did not smile that she did not greet us, just went to the table and asked if we were ready to order. She took our order, about 5 minutes later she brought us our soups and salads. She brought the wrong dressing on my salad, what happens, and I was all right with it when she brought me the right one. And then our meals came and my friend had a ham and cheese croissant and I had a Mexican dish with a big burrito on it and chips. I apologize, I wish I had taken a picture because I usually do. I assure you, our food was delicious. The waitress came and asked if our food was okay and we asked her to bring us boxes, she brought us boxes and bags. She gave us her check and went away and came back a few minutes later and offered us dessert with our food. You get ice cream or Jello or pudding with your order. If you are ever in Hammond and hunger, I definitely suggest stopping here, you will get a lot of food for your money! And if you happen to get a new waitress, just remember that everyone has to start somewhere and they are very nervous and give them a break, not be rude to them, even if they don't smile or welcome you because they don't know how to go right up to a table. Give them back at least a month, ask for this waitress and see how much it has improved and you will see the difference. My advice to the young waitress when she is still there is a table at a time to take and always smile and look more than once at your table and welcome her when you go to the table with this smile. And if you are not busy and tables start a conversation with them to know them, so build your clientele. I was in this series of works before I know how hectic it could be especially at noon in a very busy restaurant. Will I return to this restaurant, definitely! So take a chance if you have never been there, you will not be dissatisfied unless you are in a bad mood when you go in or you are an unhappy person. And we all know that there is always so every day in the restaurant business!
Food looked very flavorful. But looks were deceiving. I got the Italian pork chops with potatoes. Service was great and fast. The only other issue was waiting to pay. We could have dined and dashed because no one wanted to come over to the cash register. Almost everyone looked our way and continued to do their tasks. By the time we flagged a person down there was a line of people waiting to pay. The lady who did take our money thought we were waiting for a seat even though she was the one that sat us down at our table. Restroom was impressively clean as was the rest of the place. I've been told breakfast is 100 times better. If ever that direction I will stop in to try it. Menu was like what country would you like to try, they had a little bit of everything. Those kind of menus I usually stick to items that you can't screw up, like Italian beefs, French dip subs, etc.
