La Fogata Taquería - Hammond

This is my favorite spot! It never lets me down. In the 5+ years I've been dining here weekly, I've never had a bad experience.

The service is excellent; the waitresses during the afternoon shift provide outstanding service.

The two tacos I ordered were excellent. However, I didn’t find the atmosphere very welcoming during my visit. I opted for takeout since no one approached me to offer seating, which I found a bit odd, especially since it wasn’t busy. Despite that, the tacos were delicious—definitely recommend the chicken tacos! I’m considering returning to dine in to see how that experience differs, but I think I’ll call ahead next time to let them know I’m coming.

I ordered a taco bowl, but the shredded chicken tasted old, and the shell was over-fried and slightly burnt around the edges. After tasting it, I informed the waitress that I didn’t want it. Then, someone else came over, saying that the waitress had trouble with English, and asked what the issue was. I explained that I didn’t like the taste. She offered me something else, but I declined and made it clear that I was okay with paying for the dish. Additionally, they brought our appetizers out at the same time as our main courses.

I had an amazing experience and enjoyed a delicious breakfast here. The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. The atmosphere is both relaxing and cozy. Everything was served fresh and tasted wonderful!
