Contribute FeedbackThe Duchess of Cambridge offers a mixed dining experience that contrasts disheartened visits with a few standout moments. While some patrons lament the basic, poorly cooked food and inattentive service, others celebrate the cozy atmosphere and highlight dishes such as the vegan Wellington and well-prepared sandwiches. The restaurant's location is appealing, yet issues like forgotten orders and inconsistent food quality, including complaints of overcooked meats and unappetizing seafood, cast a shadow. However, friendly staff and commendable drinks have garnered a return invitation from some. Overall, it appears that The Duchess of Cambridge has the potential to elevate its culinary reputation.
This is a beautiful old pub with an inviting real flame gas fire. Went with my family of 6. The food drink’s were served very quickly. We had a combination of six different main meals everyone was more than happy with what they ate. Five of us dessert of apple, berry rhubarb crumble custard which was to die for. Only hiccup was when we arrived at 7.30 there was a live band playing. Now as good as they were the songs they played, they were rather loud we had to shout at one another to make ourselves heard. When booking I asked for the quiet part of the restaurant as 4 of our group being 60- in ages weren’t to keen on loud music as we’d have to shout over it. But all in all a great pub with wonderful food hard working staff.
The last owners of this pub were not up to scratch and it closed. The new owners though are more experienced in pubs and restaurants and have made a difference. The beers is competitively priced for Hammersmith/Chiswick area as a pint of Fosters sets you back £4. Glass of Trebbiand white 250ml £6.15. The food is not the best around but nice for a Sunday lunch. We tried the roast at £12.95 for the lamb and £10.95 for the beef. Both meats were a bit chewy but the trimmings were good. In all though will go again but have to say The Raven at the other end of the street a lot better.
What an absolute stinker 3 times for barstaff to get my drink order the twice to get me food order correct the head chef walked past and absolutely stank of b.o at 2pm good knows what his kitchens like!!!?
We hadn't planned on eating here but we took our car to the nearby Kwikfit and they said it would be a couple of hours. So we decided to have lunch here. So glad we did. We were given a warm welcome. The service was excellent. There was a very good range of drinks on offer, including some lovely gins, and the food was delicious.
My family of 4 stopped here for a bite to eat before visiting Windsor Castle. Very friendly people, great English fare, and reasonable prices. We all enjoyed very much!
