the power house is a favorite of ours. we visit on Thursday often when apps are 1/2 price and a 9oz glass wine is 6oz price. the waiting staff is amazing! carly, sarah and cali are great. the food has improved very much as chef vickie has taken over the kitchen. they have added heating to the terrace change in anticipation of covid regulations. they cannot go wrong with a stop at the stoney creek sign. Even though it is currently during the Covid pandemic, that should not excuse a decline in food quality. I ordered wings, a pizza, as well as a side of carrots and celery. The wings appeared old and greasy, as if they had been left under a heating lamp for too long. The pizza was overcooked to the point where only the middle portion was edible, while the crust was burnt. The carrots and celery were disappointingly sl... View all feedback.
We relocated from Toronto to the opposite side a year ago and were excited to discover the spacious terrace and appealing menu at the Powerhouse just down the road from us! The historic building is charming and the staff is consistently friendly and efficient. We had high hopes that we had found our new local spot! However, our experience with the food was overshadowed by the high prices. We were surprised to find that the prices for appetizers were nearly as expensive as the entrees, making it difficult to just enjoy a light snack. Despite enjoying the location, ambiance, and service, we repeatedly tried new dishes each time only to be disappointed by the lack of value for the cost. We suspected that the prices were inflated due to decreased traffic during the pandemic, but after sampling half of the menu without satisfaction, we felt disheartened. On our last visit, we were disappointed to find that the burgers had been downsized to a size that was neither a slider nor a full-size burger, yet the price remained the same. We ultimately decided to dine elsewhere. The presentation of the dishes was excellent, but the overall dining experience fell short. While the Powerhouse is a great spot for drinks with its impressive beer selection, beautiful building, spacious terrace, and friendly staff, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a satisfying meal.

My family and I have been coming to the Powerhouse (PH) for years, and usually have a great experience and good food. HOWEVER, based on our visit today it is likely that we will never return!!! We work hard for our money and have no interest in giving it to an establishment that doesn't value its customers. We were at the Binbrook Fair this morning and, instead of eating overpriced-greasy-carnival food, my children and I decided to stop at the PH for lunch on our way home. Our waitress, who's name I don't even care to know, never smiled once, wasn't pleasant or polite to the children, tossed things on the table with an attitude, never did a quality check on our meal, never asked if we needed any condiments, and never asked if we wanted beverage refills despite walking past our table several times during our meal. I might be more understanding if the place was packed, but there were only 4 other tables that I could see and another waitress who was also working, so it's not as if our server was being run off her feet. I left a quarter tip on the table because it was the smallest piece of change I had on me, and in retrospect, it was perhaps too generous. It's HER JOB to make people feel welcomed, to enjoy their experience, and to want to come back. COLOSSAL FAILURE!!! Sorry PH owners, we'll miss you!
The carrots and celery were disappointingly slim and soft. Additionally, I received a small portion of carrots and celery (only 4 pieces each) instead of the larger order I had requested. After calling to address the issue, more slim and soft carrots and celery were brought out. Overall, I will not be returning to this restaurant.
I tried the garden salad from Digbed on my way home and it was unlike anything I had tasted before. It included a mix of fresh grapes, flavorful lettuce, and crunchy vegetables, but was missing any dressing on the side. Overall, I was left disappointed by the lack of flavor and would not recommend it to others. I doubt I will be returning to this restaurant anytime soon.
