Our first visit in March 2016 was really enjoyable. We are not able to get a Mexican fix anymore in Burlington so while in the neighbourhood on Sunday we dropped in for an early lunch. I'm happy to see that the tacky has been taken out of the décor, while keeping the period architectural detail. It makes the business look more professional. Terrific waiter, terrific atmosphere, terrific food, terrific value. As for t... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Thirsty Cactus:
Interesting restaurant in an old store front with Mexican decor and good sized outdoor patio. Not much on the menu by way of choice if you are not a fan of Mexican food. Very clean and staff are friendly, although our server was lacking in his knowledge of Mexican food but asked an associate for advice. View all feedback.
Mini vacation in Hamilton with the hubby. Came here on the recommendation of someone at a brewery nearby. First day of the Covid passport requirement. Everything ran smoothly. Staff friendly and informative. I had the fajitas hubby had the pulled pork sandwich . Food was...plentiful and tasty. Highly recommend.
Three of us just had dinner on the patio at the Thirsty Cactus. Drinks were good but I found two long black hairs in my food. They took the item off the bill but I thought the apology they gave was insufficient and they did...not make a big deal of it. It left me with the feeling that it happens often.
First I was impressed with the greeting describing protective measures for and that they actually abide by the guidelines very well. It was like they really cared. The service was very good and quick. And of course, the meal (a burrito) was delicious!
Restaurant largely empty but took a long time for waitress to arrive. Ordered daily special, it had been under heat lamps for so long the cheese was gooey, not in curds, they steal was burned, the food limp and weak. Worst meal I have ever...been served , server unavailable for me to send back.
The Thirsty Cactus is a great place to come relax and have a great meal. The menu includes items for both vegetarian/vegan and if your looking at something that has meat they’re willing to substitute for you. The staff is beyond compare I have never...had a server that was attentive, yet not hovering. This restaurant hits all the buttons. I would definitely recommend it to every one.
