StoneRoads Bar &Grill - Hamilton

Had it not been recommended by our B&B owner we may have walked by it is a very unassuming and low-key looking place. Not especially welcoming, from the outside. But once in the people are very friendly and it is clear this is a...local watering hole where everyone knows each other and the atmosphere is friendly and pleasant. Think of Cheers, only not very trendy. The usual beers on tap (but as a bonus they had Rolling Rock We had an evening meal, and the food was really very good. Might sound odd but the only negative about the meal was that there were too many fires a heap with our veggie wrap and cheeseburger. I would rather pay a dollar less and have half the fires. The meals were typically priced in the to range for sandwiches/burgers. Another small point on the con side was that it was warm too warm. There is no air conditioning and the few ceiling fans merely moved warm air, and slowly. But all in all I would return and I can recommend Stoneroads to you

Family was in town visiting the hospital down the street and I agreed to meet them here for lunch. Apparently they don't get much of a lunch crowd in February as the majority of the chairs were still up and no one else was there,...although another group did come in when we were leaving. The lone server, who I am guessing was the owner/manager was friendly and accommodating and worked hard to ensure we had a good experience. I ordered Perogies and was treated to pan fried perogies smothered in cheddar cheese. He asked if I wanted Sour Cream, which I did, and he literally sprinted down the street to get some for me. I learned that the winter months tend to be pretty slow at StomeRoads but I kind of liked the place and will probably try to return to try out their dinner options

I read the reviews and they sounded good. Showed up to an empty restaurant. There were four or five guys at the bar. There was a lot of dated bar decorations. The pleasant waitress brought our menus I was disappointed to see that there were...many items crossed off the menu including all of the items that others raved about on previous reviews. (Meatloaf, cabbage rolls and cutlets) The server said they were transitioning to a new menu. We ordered wings, hot hamburger and Caesar salad. The wings were horrible. Too salty and oily obviously re-cooked. Salad was disappointing, bacon bits were speck like, lettuce was shredded and drenched in a bottled dressing. The fries that came with the hot hamburger were under cooked. The burger was ok and gravy was good. I don't think that I will go back

This is my neighbourhood "go-to" spot. The food is home made and delicious and the staff are always friendly

Stoneroads is a terrific neighbourhood bar/eatery. the food is always great, the service is friendly, it's upbeat and fun. I can recommend it to everyone
