What DJEzekiel doesn't like about Pho Dau Bo Restaurant:
Used to be better, but really comes down to how you order. If not familiar with Pho then go somewhere else. If you know how to order then ask for fresh, or just customize your order. As for the Pad tai review I agree ketchup is just lazy. They do make a decent one so perhaps it was a one off, as in no sauce left. The Pho itself is usually ok, but do order the way you want. Drinks here are a waste of time, powder shak... View all feedback.
I hate writing bad reviews especially for a restaurant that I actually quite enjoy eating at, but this past Tuesday, we found a cockroach in my son's Pho. When writing a review for Google, I read through all the 1 star reviews and see that others had found roaches in their pho from over a year ago! Just want to make sure people know what they're getting into before they go. If you're a restaurant owner and you know you have a roach problem, you need to deal with it apparently one year later they still haven't! So disgusting. I now have an aversion to pho in general.
I decided to try out this restaurant with a friend as a different dining option. The restaurant is clean and organized. You need to mark the item numbers on a sheet provided to give your order to the staff. The menu offers a variety of options to choose from. The food was delicious. You pay for your meal at the counter.
Tried the new Pho Dui Bo. One thumb up for taste and and a half thumb for service. Service immediately upon being seated a waiter brought us waters. Love it when you don 't have to ask. Throughout our meal a polite smiley waitress refilled and refilled again our plastic clear cups. After waters, a waiter was at our booth asking if we had ever been here before to which we answered no, and went on to explain how Pho Dui Bo operates. You scroll through the many pictures on the iPad and choose (plus sign) your meal of choice which is then added to your cart. Once you 've completed your cart with your party 's selections, you press send. The waiter receives your order, sends this to the kitchen and in a few minutes, it really wasn 't long at all, our 2 shrimp rolls with peanut delish dippig sauce with actual peanut pieces (red flag to allergies) was delivered in a small sized teardrop white dish. I love white dishes. It emphasizes the food 's textures and vibrant colours. Then our main dishes: .one big bowl of noodles, vegetables, onions, greens, beef and one roll. The beef was tender and flavourful, the spring roll was crunchy, light and tasty. The other dish in a large sized teardrop: tofu, carrots, bok choy, broccoli over long thin noodles. The sauce was oily and super slippery....the plastic on the table chopsticks didn 't work well and we had to resort to using a fork! Good tasting but did use the peanut sauce from the appetizer! Filling meals for a reasonable price satisfied this party. One pho pas : after paying our bill and had the table cleared, the waiter who initially brought us to our table brought us waters and proceeded to ask if we 'd like to order. Hmph!
Was craving Thai and found this little jem. Place was busy and a lot of take-outs happening. Food was tasty and portions were huge! Could have share one dish, but ordered 2 and had the left-over for breakfast.
Food was great! I had the beef shrimp with lemon grass. Prices were very reasonable. 2nd visit and both food service were consistent. Atmosphere is simple and clean. We recommend.
