Montana's Bbq Hamilton Upper James

This Montana’s was the busiest I’ve ever seen, and they were clearly not prepared for it. There were mistakes in every part of our dining experience: they forgot to enter part of our order, brought out appetizers without plates, and we later discovered that some main dishes were unavailable. Our main courses were served without cutlery, and there was confusion between sides and extras. To make matters worse, the chicken was undercooked and had to be sent back, but the replacement didn’t arrive until we were almost finished with our meals. Additionally, our bill had several errors. Overall, it wasn’t Montana’s finest moment. Our server was friendly and apologetic, but we ended up laughing because the situation was just so ridiculous.

Our server was fantastic! Despite being busy and short-staffed, she made my group of six feel truly special and even took the time to prepare separate checks for us.

I expected, when making a reservation on Open Table, that the restaurant would be at least decent. Unfortunately, it wasn't. This Montana location is quite run-down. The seats were ripped, the restroom was not clean, and we waited over an hour for our food. I won’t be going back, and since it was a birthday celebration, it was truly embarrassing.

Montana's has always hade good food. Like home cooked southern food, pleasing to the soul. The service at this particular location is above and beyond what a chain restaurant's service expectations are. Wonderful staff
