This is not my first visit to the Modern India Buffet. I finally decided to submit a review. It always satisfies my last minute urge for Indian food. Not the best Indian Restaurant I have eaten at, but does the best buffet selection and tastes and never disappoints me. I'll be back for more. View all feedback.
What Audra Koelpin doesn't like about Modern India Buffet Restaurant:
It's a clean, low priced Indian Food Buffet. They seem to use one or two main sauces for all of the dished that they serve. The environment was clean and comfortable. The food was all right, but nothing special. View all feedback.
A group of us used to go all the time and it was great. Lots of different flavours and options, but the last couple times we have gone it was not the same food at all. We gave it a second chance as everyone has a bad day, but the second visit was worse than the first. Not sure if they changed ownership or recipes, but we will never go back. two boring bland experiences for us was enough. There are a couple other great Indian food restaurants in the area that are consistent.
My wife and I just moved back to Hamilton and I had a craving for some Indian food. She was out for part of the evening and went on a whim. I had forgotten how bad the last experience really was. Some of the dishes were reheated so many times that they were virtually inedible. I went on a Tuesday night and the place wasn't too busy. Brantford has an Indian buffet (Taal Indian Buffet) which puts this place to shame. No wonder this place wasn't busy. When they were on Walnut, I couldn't get enough of the place. It's sad that the quality was allowed to slide to what it is now. Do not eat here. You have been warned! Needless to say, I won't be back. In the future, I'll order from a reputable restaurant a la carte or drive to Brantford. I've attached pictures of the dishes that I had. In reality, pictures are really deceiving.
I love Tandoori, chicken masala, vindaloo and butter chicken. This place never disappoint us every time we go there. just make sure to pack Eno or Tums because somehow your eyes are bigger than your tummy. lol. love it. we always come back for more.
$15 buffet per person. Twenty four items to select from plus a small salad bar, a couple desserts, and an ice cream freezer.Food was tasty.Restaurant furnishings are very plain. Also has a banquet hall for 200 people upstairs.A number of people used take out while we had our dinner. They also cater for groups of 20 or more for $11 per person.
Went on-line and saw that this restaurant had a $9.99 lunch buffet, when I arrived they had a sign that said it was $14.99 The buffet is large with many choices, which was great. The main issue is the restaurant was cold and the food was not hot. Despite the variety of dishes I felt the depth of flavour was lacking.
